Samsung is presenting two new Galaxy smartphones before the forthcoming Consumer Electronics Show: The Galaxy Note 10 Lite and the Galaxy S10 Lite. The new phones are built to propose flagship features at reasonable prices. With these new devices, the South Korea-based phone maker is also moving out of its usual launch cycle — a move possibly aimed at contesting the competition from Apple’s iPhone 11, iPhone XR, and the much gossiped iPhone SE 2.
The new Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite are mostly identical except for their back cameras and processor. Both sport a 6.7-inch 1080p hole-punch OLED screen that has a small cutout at the center to accommodate the selfie camera.

Apart from that, there will be a 4500mAh battery paired with fast-charging over USB Type-C, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, 128GB of internal storage and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Both also offer Android 10 (covered with the company’s own custom skin, of course) out of the box.
The Galaxy S10 Lite (which is not to be mixed up with the Galaxy S10e that’s intended more for smaller hands) is driven by Qualcomm’s former flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 855, whereas the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 SoC.

The significant differences between the two lie within their rectangular three-camera bumps on the rear. The Galaxy S10 Lite has a 5-megapixel macro lens, a 48-megapixel primary camera, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Moreon, it has a special software feature known as Super Steady OIS, which, as its name proposes, lets you take comparatively steadier videos.
In contrast, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, carries a 12-megapixel Dual-Pixel camera coupled with 12-megapixel ultrawide and 12-megapixel telephoto sensors. Standing as a Note, its standout feature is the S-Pen stylus, which also folds as a wireless clicker.
Although the new phones do seem promising, Samsung hasn’t yet shared their most important feature — the pricing. Bearing in mind the company has almost half a dozen flagship phones already and a a few more coming up in February, it’s likely that Samsung possibly will end up discontinuing a few of its present models to make room for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite.
