Titan enters the Smartwatch Segment by Launching ‘Juxt’ Smartwatch
Titan, the leading watchmaker in India has expanded its portfolio by entering the smartwatch segment by launching ‘Juxt’ smartwatch. The new smartwatches was launched on Wednesday, and will be available in India, as well as other international markets including UK, United States and Canada. The new smartwatch is available in India starting from Rs. 15, 995. The new smartwatch has been launched by the company in collaboration with HP, the leading computer giant. In the international markets, They will sell their Juxt Smartwatches thorough the distribution network of HP.
The Juxt is compatible with both android and iOS devices, and hence can be paired with android smartphones running android 4.4 kitkat and above, and iPhones running iOS 8 and above. There are companion apps for the Smartphone available on appstores of both ecosystems. Titan Juxt Smartwatches will be available in Stainless steel, titanium and Rose Gold variants.
The watch is not like other smartwatches like moto 360, and apple smartwatch. It is more of a classic looking Titan analogue watch, with a small black and white LED screen. The phone has basic Smartphone functions like fitness tracking, give notifications for incoming calls, texts, social media messages, emails, and more. The smartwatch can also issue discreet notifications through haptic vibration patterns. All the three variants of the smartwatch come with a genuine calf leather strap. On a single charge, the watch will last for up to five days. The Juxt smartwatch is also water resistant up to 5 ATM. All three variants of the new Juxt smartwatch will be available for about Rs. 15,995 to Rs. 19,995.
The Juxt will be available for prebooking on company’s e-commerce website. Titan has also partnered with online store Myntra to sell the product. The smartwatch will be also available in select World of Titan store, Helios and large format stores. The cheapest variant with stainless steel is priced at Rs 15,995 while the Rose Gold stainless steel variant is priced at Rs 17,995 and the costliest one in Titanium is priced at Rs 19,995. All the three versions come with leather straps. The Juxt Stainless and Rose Gold are made of stainless steel but the Titanium version’s body is made of titanium. All the three have Honeycomb patterned dial, OLED display, toughened mineral glass and leather strap.
Titan Juxt will be the first smartwatch made by an Indian company. Their business model is not based on international forays. But the new tie-up with HP to sell their watches in international markets through HP stores would bring more business to the company. The watch is for those people who are looking for a sturdy classic Titan watch with some basic smartwatch capabilities, and not for those who are looking for a complete smartwatch experience with full touch screen and call features. By the end of this year, Titan also has plans to expand its market to five more countries beyond India, UK, US and Canada.
