Xiaomi Redmi 2 android smartphone sails on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS which is skinned with company’s latest MIUI v6 launcher. and the MIUI ROMs have been around for a while and are fairly popular among the Android community. The customizations of Xiaomi runs very deep and replace everything including all the Google services and the good news is that still all those can be got from the Mi Market app. Xiaomi Redmi 2 models which is sold outside the china comes with the entire Google package pre-installed.
Xiaomi MIUI v6 completely overtakes the user interface though it keeps the same layout and operational logic. Xiaomi has come up with the huge effort in order to make the UI flat and simplistic as possible and to keep the entire functionality intact. Xiaomi Redmi 2 android smartphone’s lockscreen moves the clock widget over the top left and lose the centered circle with shortcuts and from the user side, swiping upwards to unlock should be done. For a quick access to the camera, just swipe from the right side and there is a way to set the protection such as PIN or password. Beyond the Xiaomi Redmi 2 android smartphone’s lockscreen comes the Android homescreen with four customizable shortcuts that is docked at the bottom by default and it can be docked up to five items. Also, the user can have any app there or even folders with multiple items as per the desire and unfortunately, there is no app drawer, so anything that installed pops up on the homescreen, and that too can have a unlimited panes. As there are no shortcuts, the usual routine of removing icons that meant dragging them up to a recycle bin at the top of the screen will be uninstalled the corresponding app and there is a pop-up for confirming the action and there is no way for accidentally uninstall the apps.
Homescreen widgets are available which can be visible by tapping, holding on the homescreen and then by choosing the widgets. Xiaomi Redmi 2 android smartphone’s homescreen effects available and with it, the user can change the themes and the theme will change the:

As Xiaomi provides its own cloud service for content syncing between devices, each of the Mi Cloud account is granted 5GB of free storage that can be used it to backup:
- entire gallery
- call log
- voice recordings. Browser content such as history, tabs, webapp data and the music library drives in a same line as because the Xiaomi’s sync and backup service shares lots of similarities with the Apple iCloud. Xiaomi with its free Cloud Messaging option allows the users to exchange the messages over the internet connection rather being billed for SMS. Lastly, if need to signed in with the Mi Cloud account, it can be done by using the Find device function which is a handy feature in case if the user misplaced Xiaomi Redmi 2 or someone steals it. As there is no Google Now pre-installed. Xiaomi Redmi 2 android smartphone comes with basic Google package – Google Play Store plus Google sync of app data, contacts, and browser and by using this, the user can get every other Google app from the Play Store that includes Google Now and Maps. top
