OnePlus One – Touchscreen Bug

This same similar issue was seen with the OnePlus Onesmartphone last month and the reports said that touchscreen issue on the OnePlus One was occurred because the flexible digitizer connector of replacement touchscreens fitted came in contact with the inner surface of the handset’s metallic body which caused problems due to a grounding fault and this issue was rectified by adding insulating material, even though OnePlus disproved the existence of the issue with a series of tests.

OnePlus explained that the if the digitizer flex made direct contact with the metallic chassis, a ground fault would be occurred leading to touchscreen abnormalities but the OnePlus engineers recreated those faulty placement of the flexible digitizer connector and found the OnePlus One screen avails all the 10 touches successfully even-though the digitizer connector was in contact with the metallic body and the OnPlus also warned the users not to perform the disassembling process by all themselves as it will void the handset warranty. OnePlus recreated the digitizer connector in both the old models as well as in the new OnePlus One models with the latest Synaptics firmware by placing a highly conductive metal in contact with the connector and narrated that it should have cause a ground fault as said by the user but the OnePlus describes the touchscreen still performed without any drawbacks.
The digitizer that being exposed to the metallic body shouldn’t be an issue as preventative measures and the metal casing in the One handset is covered with a piece of plastic that keeps a uniform spacing between the metallic body and the digitizer. The company also notified that there is an insulation PI around the flexible printed circuit (FPC) and a sealant at the bottom of the bonding and even if the digitizer flex makes direct contact with the metallic chassis, there will be no undesirable touchscreen effects would occur.

As the handset runs perfectly in the aforementioned conditions actually it is not a hardware or manufacturing issue but related to software side. The user who managed to solve issues by adding insulation to the area that represents a very small minority of affected users and this unfortunately not able to re-create the issue in a lab environment but still taking this issue very seriously, currently running further more tests that involves static electricity.

Till now, OnePlus not comes with the clarification of how about or when it would come with the solution for the the long-running touchscreen issue for those of the remaining OnePlus users but given a word that  several internal tests are running  to close the problem.
